Lovin' Summer

It has been nice and hot...perfect for playing outside a ton. The girls have had a blast playing with the Crom Kids, and especially in the water. They figured out how to turn on the hose themselves. While I switched out a load of laundry they got it turned on and proceeded to spray the house and Stan the Tan Minivan. Peanut was also shooting it into the sky and yelling, "I gotcha!" When questioned, she admitted she was trying to squirt God.

Mr. Wigglebuns is officially rolling over, constantly. No more just laying him down wherever. Especially if there is something close by he wants to chew on. But he will always settle for his fingers. Anytime he is awake. I gave him a long spear of cantaloupe the other day (to keep him happy so I could make lunch) and he slobbered all over with it and loved it.

Sparkle Princess got these fab press-on Ariel nails in the mail from Granny. She wore them as long as she could, but left a strange trail of plastic nails all over the house. You never know when you are going to find one.
I went with a Crom Mom to see the Sex in the City movie last night. Loved it. We laughed and cried and had a blast. The Croms are planning an event in July and I now want to dress up for it. I haven't worn a fancy dress or jewelry forever--but if Mr. W isn't along I don't have to worry about stains or things being ripped from my ears or neck. Maybe something would fit from pre-prego state? Definitely not as current or couture as SITC, but good for my little world.
Off househunting in the windy city this weekend. Wish us luck. Nothing is going to compare to current accomodations. Bah.

Prayers for Emily

The following is a prayer request for a girl at my church. (Her mom and I have really connected --we sing in the band together, she is an artist, and they have lived in MN, IL, IN, MI, and OH as well.) I know we really appreciated the prayers for our family in the past couple years.

* Our daughter Emily will be 22 years old in September and in July will be a 17 year brain cancer survivor. * In July 2007 she underwent a 2nd brain surgery that removed a benign meningioma. We believe that the surgery was a great success largely due to prayers that went out for Emily via an email like this one. Those prayers did wonders for us as well. * Emily will face a 3rd brain surgery on June 26, 2008. This one is Epilepsy surgery to remove tissue causing her to have seizures. We want to shower Emily with emails from around the world from now (at least) until June 26th so she can see in print, what she so clearly knows and shares. . . The Love of God! If you are so moved, we ask you to do the following:· Send an email to stardustEm@yahoo.com Write on the subject line: Prayers for Emily· Write your message; share your thoughts, a poem, pictures, whatever.· Identify yourself. Tell her how you know her or the name of the person who shared her story with you. The seizures have really affected her memory so even if you think she knows you, give her a clue along with your name (e.g. I live at the end of your street & drive a black truck; I’ve been a communion assistant with you; I work with your dad; etc). Tell her where you live so she can see just how widely she is known.· Emily is thrilled when someone acknowledges her! Though an email might not seem like much to many of us, it will mean the world to her.

I told Jeff last night that I could totally get addicted to this. And here I am again tonight posting. We had a fun-filled day at our house today. Started with me doing some serious gardening, mostly weeding and pruning. I got out my chainsaw today. First time in a couple years actually. There had better be big stuff to saw at the next house we go to. I had forgotten how much fun that thing is. I know I am weird. I have a very destructive side. I filled 7 of those lawn bags. Thank you Jeff for letting me work and watching the munchkins. Felt good to work up a sweat. I realized that was the first time in over 8 months I have worked that hard. I really really need to start exercising again. I miss it.

Peanut had at least three pieces of gum today. I don't allow gum. But she got it in a goodie bag at the recital. It is all she can think about. It is all she can talk about. She is going to drive me crazy. So far she has been responsible with it. We'll see if that lasts. I am hoping to go back to the no gum policy for the most part and just chalk this up to a lucky fluke for Peanut.

Then we all got cleaned up, went and got a birthday present, and hustled to the kiddie amusement park for a birthday party...that is tomorrow. OOOPS. We let the girls ride a couple, but made them wait for tomorrow. So we went to a park and let the girls hang upside down for awhile. I will post more on them being upside down later.

Then Jeff headed out for yet another GMAC goodbye party. I've had enough kiddie food this week. Enough so that I braved taking my kids (all three of them) to Olive Garden BY MYSELF. Can you tell I was desperate? It went amazingly well. I picked OG partially because I know they would eat stuff there and I could get grown up food. I had gnocchi for the first time. (Always wanted to try it after they make it all the time on Top Chef--yay for Stephanie's win this season.) They were all extremely good. I could tell the other diners were waiting on pins and needles for a disaster. Thank goodness there were other obnoxious children leaving as we came in that I could use as an example. (I told the girls they had to leave because they were being bad and that could happen to us if they freaked out.) Hope that wasn't too terrible parenting.

Raining a lot here tonight---hard stuff with thunder. Makes me think of everyone back home in Iowa. Hope you are all dry and safe!

Ballerinas extraordinaire

So here are Peanut in pink and Sparkle Princess in blue hyped up about performing on a stage. Peanut actually was liking the makeup. But this may be the one and only time we see her this girly. Sparkle on the other hand is already talking about next year. Sorry it's sideways, I haven't figured out how to spin stuff yet.
And here is Mr. Wigglebuns showing off his head lifting ability. Not bad for an almost four month old that weighs at least 18 pounds. Check out the cheeks on all three. You know I am feeding these kids well.

Check it out!

So I just started getting on the internet a ton lately. 1. Because the computer is close to the laundry. 2. Because I have figured out how to surf and feed Mr. Wigglebuns at the same time. Getting DSL helped, too. I've been trying to actually keep abreast of what is happening in the world. I might not know anything indepth, but I at least have a clue again. Then I started following a couple of different blogs. One friend suggested I try blogging, especially to help keep up with all of our friends from the various states we lived in. So here I am.
Tonight the hubby is out bowling. Peanut fell asleep during the girl night + Mr. Wigglebuns movie. I'm surprised Sparkle Princess isn't out. They had their first dance recital last night and we were out super late. They both did a great job--did the whole dance routine. Peanut wouldn't leave the stage. Maybe I'll get to scrapbook? maybe write more later, the little one yells.
